We’re talking about GoldenBit (https://www.goldenbit.co.il/), a company that handles money for people in insurance, retirement funds, and investments. They want you to think they’re a trusted, experienced company that gives “personal and careful service,” and combines many different kinds of expertise. For over 30 years, they’ve worked hard to create an image of responsibility and trustworthiness. It’s a lie.

They brag about their “team of experts” who graduated from top consulting firms and Israel’s biggest banks, and say they’re “loyal partners” in helping people with their money and health. That’s not true. They haven’t protected the information of the people they claim to serve.

We’re sharing a lot of information that we got from GoldenBit’s computer systems. A part of this, about 1.5GB, is being released now. Think of it as a first look at how badly they’re failing.

Their security is laughably bad – not just a small problem, but a sign of how they do things.

Here’s what we’re releasing:

Customer information: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, and more.
Employee details: Personal information, login details, and messages they sent to each other.
Lists of usernames and passwords for many websites – a shocking lack of care. Many of these passwords are very simple, showing a lack of understanding about security.
Pictures of ID documents and driver’s licenses, stored without any care for privacy.
Information about clients’ finances and investment plans.

Look at how carelessly they stored passwords. Notice how little they care about protecting data. This isn’t just one mistake; it shows how they approach security: careless and irresponsible.
